Relaxation breaks to walk down Montmartre are always appreciated: it is usually at the end of the day after hours of walk, visits and shopping. Fortunately the relaxation breaks on the western side of the Montmartre hill that we recommend you to take are numerous and varied. You can even combine your return with our walk Musée-de-Montmartre to Pigalle which follows this route.
We have planned also 2 more self-guided walks to visit the entire Butte Montmartre. For each one, relaxation breaks at the shopkeepers, all along the walks or strolls are regularly distributed (See map juste below).

What is a Relaxation Break?
The “Relaxation Breaks” are Coffee Breaks, Restaurant Breaks, Shopping Breaks, that is to say everything that might interest you along a guided and commented walk, in addition to the Points of Interest that are the object of the walk.
This allows you to rest, taste or buy at recommended points noted with the quasi certainty of quality, without being swindled by an indelicate merchant (without making you). And since you are also on vacation, you can make the most of your time simply by mingling with the Parisians around the corner.
Relaxation breaks to walk down Montmartre: the rating of the shops
The shops we recommend in our list below are rated from 1 to 5 and we have eliminated from our lists the shops rated below 4.0 (with some exceptions of 3.2 or 3.5, to indicate the shops to be avoided). The merchants are rated by the tourists who preceded you on this route. The average is taken into account only with a sufficient number of appraisals (several tens), over a sufficiently long period (a few months to a year)
The merchants selected in the end represent less than 50% of the merchants present along the promenades. This means that following the indications of our lists allows you to escape, more often than not, the “tourist traps” that are regularly encountered in tourist places such as the Butte Montmartre.
