Le Bon Marché, Paris’s first department store, has been an institution since 1852. Its elegant architecture and luxurious departments make it a must-visit shopping destination. Address: 24 Rue de Sèvres. Open Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm (until 8:45 pm on Thursdays).
Le Musée des Égouts de Paris. Paris’s sewers also have their own museum, little-known but highly informative. It is one of the city’s museums and is located beneath the Habib-Bourguiba esplanade, opposite 93 Quai d’Orsay, near the Alma Bridge, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.
Since 1975, a museum has chronicled the history of Paris’s sewers, their tools, and machinery. Housed in the Alma pumping station, at the start of the sewer siphon under the Seine, right in the heart of an active site, visitors can explore 500 meters of galleries, guided by sewer workers. Renovated for the first time in 1989, the museum welcomes around 100,000 visitors each year.
The Champ de Mars Park is perfect for a nature break with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Its shaded paths and lawns welcome joggers, families, and tourists seeking tranquility. Free access.
