Patrick Roger chocolatier, awarded Meilleur Ouvrier de France
This Meilleur Ouvrier de France is an extravagant and inspired artist. In his quest for excellence, he makes no compromises.
The multi-floral honey in his caramels comes from hives installed on the roof of his chocolate factory! His “Couleurs” candies offer subtle flavor combinations. Silky caramel, verbena, and yuzu for the “Sauvage” slate-gray variety, or caramel, vinegar, and raisin for the “Rafale” golden buttercup. And why not indulge in the evocative names of “Jalousie,” “Insolence,” “Fantasme,” or “Marie Galante”?
Magnificent chocolate sculptures. Excellent chocolates. Very good pralines, an exceptional dark chocolate with ginger, and irresistible candied orange peels! Expensive, but you must treat yourself to this taste experience.
A chocolate mine in the basement
In the basement, the renowned chocolatier offers a cocoa mine: tall, dark walls gilded with fine gold, dotted with his famous “Couleurs” candies scented with lemon-basil from the chocolatier. Soft, rounded shapes and dim lighting enhance the cave-like atmosphere…
If you can’t eat the sculptures, don’t worry: the ground-floor shop offers miniatures of Patrick Roger’s collections!
A chocolate mine first and foremost, but also a treasure trove of shapes, textures and colours… a showcase for collections of edible miniatures, as well as chocolate, bronze or aluminium sculptures—true passions of the chocolate artist.
Everything is beautiful
Everything is beautiful and good to look at, to touch or to taste, because as long as there’s Chocolat chez Patrick Roger, there’s Art! The space itself is a cocoon of raw aluminium alveoli, a hymn to eternal nature and also to the bees the artist reveres and cultivates—not just for their honey, of course, but always with a view to biodiversity so vital to the preservation of our beautiful and generous planet.
The space is soft, wrapped in rounded forms, a little like an oxygen bubble in the heart of the city, a sphere for dreaming and savouring, a planet dedicated exclusively to Art and Chocolate!
Three exhibition levels
Three levels to marvel, travel, and lose yourself in the fabulous universe of Patrick Roger… from the mine in the basement, its walls lined with raw chocolate, which, like nuggets, showcases a selection of bronze and aluminum sculptures with striking lines… up to the first floor, dedicated to the pleasure of tasting and collections of sweets with precious and original flavors. “Here, the entire palette of the chocolatier is expressed in an incredible range of shades, like miniature sculptures carved from the very essence of taste!” to finish on the second floor with the latest creations—sculptures carved and modeled by the master from the very substance of chocolate…
A giant “root-tree” soars through the space, piercing the floors, emerging from the depths of the earth to reach the light, and upon which an army of monkeys seems to watch us, taunt us, inviting us to share in the joys of creation with them!
