The DIOR Paris Royale boutique is one of the stores of the Christian Dior Couture house specializing in tailoring and haute couture creations. The headquarters of Dior is located at 30 avenue Montaigne, 75008 Paris, and will soon move to the Champs-Élysées. Dior is renowned for its unrivaled expertise in fashion and luxury. Its name is associated with iconic creations such as the Bar suit, the Lady Dior bag, and the J’adore fragrance.

DIOR Paris Royale boutique has a prestigious address located on rue Royale, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, close to the Madeleine Church and rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré. Christian Dior Couture embodies French elegance and excellence, captivating fashion lovers worldwide.

In a sophisticated and modern setting, you’ll find the brand’s men’s and women’s collections, as well as jewelry, watches, and Dior Phone products.

A new Baby Dior and Dior Kids boutique has opened in Paris, at 25 rue Royale, in the Village Royal. It is located next to the DIOR Paris Royale boutique for adults, at the entrance of the Village.

From the moment you enter, the Dior Kids collections are showcased in a décor evoking a family home, with its antique fireplaces and walls adorned with plaques. Further inside, in a space whose ceiling is painted by Mathias Kiss, are displayed the creations of the Baby Dior line. Finally, the first floor of this 100-square-meter boutique is dedicated to evening wear and exceptional pieces.

Launched in 1967, the Baby Dior line now has around twenty boutiques worldwide, including two now in Paris.

The Legend of Christian Dior

In the immediate post-war period, Christian Dior revolutionized fashion and women’s ready-to-wear with his legendary Corolle collection. Frilly dresses, tilted hats, accentuated busts, and defined waists. This collection, dubbed the New Look on the other side of the Atlantic, earned admiration from many, though it also drew some ridicule.

This revolution was the work of Christian Dior, son of industrialists born in 1905 in Granville, Normandy. The second of five siblings, he spent his childhood in Paris, dreaming of art and architecture. In 1925, with financial support from his father, he opened a gallery showcasing works by Braque, Picasso, Cocteau, and Max Jacob.

After closing his gallery in 1931, Christian Dior became a fashion illustrator for Le Figaro Illustré, then a creative assistant to couturier Robert Piguet. Mobilized during France’s defeat in 1940, he later joined Lucien Lelong. Forced to dress the wives of Nazi occupiers and French collaborators, he remained deeply devoted to his sister, a member of the Resistance. He dedicated his first perfume, Miss Dior, to her in 1947.

The true beginnings of Christian Dior

In 1946, businessman Marcel Boussac financed the opening of his couture house at 30 avenue Montaigne in Paris. With ample resources and complete freedom, Christian Dior was able to reinvent fashion over the following decade. In addition to the 1947 Corolle collection, which restored women’s power of seduction after the deprivations of war, he stunned the world again in 1954 with the H line, freeing women’s silhouettes.

Fashion designer to the stars, his sudden death from a heart attack in Italy in 1957 left the empire orphaned.

But his succession was secured, first by Yves Saint Laurent. Then for twenty-eight years by Marc Bohan, who brilliantly ensured the continuity of the house. Next came the Italian Gianfranco Ferré, followed by John Galliano. He made the brand famous from 1996 to 2011, before his antics forced him to leave.

He made way for Belgian designer Raf Simons. On July 8, 2016, Maria Grazia Chiuri became Dior’s first female artistic director, succeeding Raf Simons. In 2017, the Dior Book Tote bag was her first original leather creation. In 2018, it was the turn of the Saddle bag to be reinvented by Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Who runs Dior Couture?

It’s a long and financially complex story. In 1984, Bernard Arnault acquired the textile group Boussac Saint-Frères, owner of the Christian Dior brand. He became CEO in 1985.

He also takes over the presidency of the LVMH – Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton group in 1988. In 1989, he reunites Parfums Christian Dior, previously owned by Moët-Hennessy, and the couture division, separate since 1968, within the Christian Dior SE holding company.

In 1996, he recruits designer John Galliano, followed in 1998 by Victoire de Castellane for High Jewelry, thus continuing the vision of global luxury initiated by Christian Dior.

Nearly continuous adaptation: Today: a haute couture laboratory

In the 2000s and 2010s, Dior diversifies its products, particularly into jewelry and watchmaking, under the direction of Victoire de Castellane.

The Dior haute couture operates as a creation and craftsmanship laboratory: the ideas of the artistic directors are brought to life by specialized ateliers, involving hours of cutting, draping, embroidery, and hand assembly. The House itself describes couture as a place where ideas are transformed through exceptional know-how.

The Haute Couture Dior thus plays a dual role

Preserve the traditional techniques of French haute couture, its ateliers, and their craftsmanship. But also the historical codes of Dior and the Dior silhouette, particularly the Bar jacket.
Reinventing at the same time volumes, materials, embroideries, the relationship between fashion and art, the feminine silhouette, and contemporary cultural references.

It is precisely this combination of heritage and innovation that defines Dior Couture’s value today.

A new chapter with Jonathan Anderson

This is a particularly important element in 2026.

Jonathan Anderson is currently the artistic director of Dior, and his arrival marks a new phase for the House. The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode names him as Christian Dior’s artistic director.

His approach involves, in particular, not literally reproducing historical Dior, but deconstructing its codes to make them contemporary.

A very telling example is the Bar jacket.

Rather than simply replicating the 1947 silhouette, Anderson reimagines it: softer volumes, draped fabrics, asymmetries, and shifted proportions. Vogue describes his 2026 work as a way to “melt” the rigidity of the original Bar into more fluid silhouettes.

This is a significant evolution: heritage becomes a creative material, not a constraint.

The relationship with art remains fundamental

Dior has always maintained an exceptionally strong bond with artists.

This is especially evident in recent haute couture: Jonathan Anderson’s autumn-winter 2026–2027 collection draws inspiration from the work of American sculptor Lynda Benglis.

The spring-summer 2026 collection, meanwhile, explores nature, sculptural volumes, draped fabrics, and botanical ornamentation.

This interplay between sewing, sculpture, painting, architecture, and craftsmanship is one of the ways Dior keeps haute couture at the level of a true art form.

Dior also helps advance craftsmanship

Dior’s contemporary contribution is therefore not merely aesthetic.

The House seeks to advance traditional techniques through new materials, constructions and processes. LVMH presents Christian Dior Couture as a “laboratory of innovation”, combining the preservation of historical techniques with innovation.

This research is evident even in recent collections: pleated fabrics, ultra-light structures, new interpretations of embroidery, blends of tailoring and sewing techniques, and more.

Today, Dior is one of the houses that best embodies the ability of French haute couture to transform its heritage into contemporary creation.
