Fontaine de la Vierge – Square Jean XXIII – Notre-Dame

The Fountain of the Virgin is located in Square Jean-XXIII[1], behind the chevet of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral. It is located in the center of a lawn parterre, roughly on the site of the former rue de l'Abreuvoir. The fountain was created by Alphonse Vigoureux in 1845, to equip Square Jean-XXIII (then Square de l'Archevêché), created the previous year.
