Hôtel d’Aumont, 150 years of private use followed by 200 years in the service of the State

To the right of the Hôtel de Sens, the French garden is accessible (for visits) through a passage (open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). This passage leads to the Hôtel d’Aumont, which houses the administrative court and was built by François Mansart.

On the other side of Rue du Figuier, the garden leads to the MIJE, a youth hostel located at 11 Rue du Fauconnier (best visited in the morning).

The Paris administrative court moved in there in 1959. In 2003, the remains of Queen Arégonde were discovered in a safe in the Hôtel d’Aumont, where Michel Fleury, as vice-president of the municipal commission for Old Paris, occupied an office until the 1970s.
