Museet for Yves Saint Laurent, hyldest til kvinden og den franske haute couture

Yves Saint Laurents Museum i Paris præsenterer kunstnerens værker i det historiske ramme af hans tidligere modehus. Det ligger i en byejendom på 5, avenue Marceau, tæt på Triumfbuen. Det var her, Yves Saint Laurents kreationer blev til i næsten tredive år, fra 1974 til 2002. Museet er blevet til på initiativ af Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent.

Den 3. oktober 2017, mere end femten år efter lukningen af højesteremodehuset, åbnede Yves Saint Laurents Museum i Paris dørene for offentligheden.

Over more than 450 m², a constantly renewed presentation, alternating retrospective tours and thematic temporary exhibitions, reflects the richness of the unique heritage of the Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent Foundation.

The creative genius of Yves Saint Laurent

The Parisian museum showcases the creative genius of the couturier and the creative process behind his haute couture collections. But more than just a monographic museum, it also aims to bear witness to the history of the 20th century and a haute couture that accompanied a certain way of life now lost.

The scenography of the exhibitions

Scenographer Nathalie Crinière and decorator Jacques Grange, who have collaborated on numerous projects for the Foundation, have reimagined its exhibition spaces in the original atmosphere of the haute couture house.

The Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent Foundation

Established in 2002 as an extension of the haute couture house, the Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent Foundation’s main mission is to preserve and promote Yves Saint Laurent’s work.

Recognised as being of public utility, the Foundation manages two museums: the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech (Morocco). It is committed to three main missions:

Bevarelsen af haute couture- og prêt-à-porterklæder og -tilbehør, forberedende skitser til kollektioner, et dokumentationsmateriale samt forskellige tegninger og genstande, der vidner om Yves Saint Laurents kreative proces;
Organiseringen af mode-, maleri-, fotografi-, kunsthåndværks- eller samtidskunstudstillinger i dets lokaler fra 2004 til 2016, samt udstillinger af Yves Saint Laurent uden for huset i Frankrig og i udlandet;
Støtte til kulturelle institutioner og projekter.
