Description

  • Format:
Digital (TIFF): the photos we offer are not simply good photos that you can find elsewhere on the Internet. They are in high definition (HD), which for us means that the whole “chain” of photo manipulations, from the moment the picture is taken to the moment you get it, must not diminish the quality of the photo’s reproduction. And one of the “destructive manipulations” is photo compression, which is compulsory and automatic when sending photos over the Internet.
Of all the available formats , we have opted for TIFF. The advantage of this format is its perfect rendering of the image after compression. We use this format despite the disadvantage of a lower compression rate than other formats, and the resulting higher “weight” in bytes.
The often-used JPEG format allows high compression rates, but loses some of its visual qualities. This also means that if you make “cascading” uses of a JPEG photo, the quality of the photo will drop with each compression.
  • Photographer: Jean-Philippe Combeau
  • Subject: Alexandre III bridge, 75008 Paris. This bridge is 200 m from the Place de la Concorde. It is aligned with Avenue Winston Churchill (75008) and continues across the Seine on Avenue du Maréchal Gallieni (75007) towards the Hôtel des Invalides.

How to use these HD Photos with digital media (Cell phone, laptop, desktop computer, frame, TV, various TV screens, etc.)

Screens are defined by the length of their diagonal. Image quality for a given screen size depends mainly on the number of pixels in the horizontal and vertical axes, i.e. the distance between the activated light points on the screen surface. For example, a conventional TV screen can have 1920 x 1080 pixels (width x height). If a digital photo is 2,500 pixels wide, only 1,920 will be visible on the screen, and part of the photo will be off-screen. Conversely, an 1800-pixel photo will only occupy part of the screen.

TV sets have 4:3 screens. To get a perfect photo reproduced on screen, we recommend cropping photos to obtain the same ratio between width and height.

  • Superior Quality: The TIFF format ensures optimal resolution and clarity.

Introduced to photography by my father at a very early age, I started with disposable cameras, then my father gave me a Polaroid and finally one of his cameras, a Nikon FM2. Which I still treasure. I went digital about fifteen years ago, and since then I’ve specialized in culinary, architectural, portrait and landscape photography.

Landscape photography gives me the opportunity to discover places from a different angle and, in this case, to illustrate Paris in a special way. I’m particularly fond of the morning at sunrise and the evening at dusk. My retouching work is as natural as possible, it’s mainly designed to enhance an eventual print on art paper, and I very rarely use Artificial Intelligence functions.

I hope you’ll enjoy this selection of real photos of Paris that we’ve put together with www.visitingparisbyyourself.com, and that they’ll inspire you to discover and keep unforgettable memories of our beautiful capital.
