Museet Yves Saint Laurent, hyllest til kvinnen og den franske haute couturen

Yves Saint Laurent-museet i Paris presenterer kunstnerens verk i det historiske skjul av hans tidligere motesalong. Det befinner seg i den herskapelige bygningen på 5 avenue Marceau, like ved Triumfbuen. Det var her Yves Saint Laurents kreative verk ble til i nesten tretti år, fra 1974 til 2002. Museet ble til på initiativ av Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent.

3. oktober 2017, mer enn femten år etter at motesalongen ble stengt, åpnet Yves Saint Laurent-museet i Paris dørene for publikum.

Over more than 450 m², a constantly renewed presentation, alternating retrospective tours and temporary thematic exhibitions, reflects the richness of the unique heritage of the Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent Foundation.
The creative genius of Yves Saint Laurent
The Parisian museum showcases the creative genius of the couturier and the creative process behind his haute couture collections. But more than just a monographic museum, it also serves as a witness to the history of the 20th century and a haute couture that accompanied a certain way of life that has now disappeared.
The scenography of the exhibitions
Scenographer Nathalie Crinière and decorator Jacques Grange, who have collaborated on numerous projects for the Foundation, have reimagined its exhibition spaces in the original atmosphere of the haute couture house.
The Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent Foundation
Established in 2002 as an extension of the haute couture house, the Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent Foundation’s main mission is to preserve and promote Yves Saint Laurent’s work.

Recognized as a public utility, the Foundation manages two museums: the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech (Morocco). It is committed to three main missions:

Bevaring av klær og tilbehør fra haute couture og ready-to-wear, forberedende skisser til kolleksjoner, et dokumentasjonsmateriale samt ulike tegninger og gjenstander som vitner om Yves Saint Laurents kreative prosess;
Arrangement av moteshow, maleri-, fotografi-, dekorativ kunst- eller samtidskunstutstillinger i lokalene fra 2004 til 2016, samt utstillinger av Yves Saint Laurent utenfor museet i Frankrike og internasjonalt;
Støtte til kulturelle institusjoner og prosjekter.
