A story which starts in 1878
Venchi-Chocolatier story begins in 1878, when Silviano Venchi, a young man of 20, spent all his savings on two cupper cauldrons and began experimenting with chocolate in a small room in Via degli Artisti, in Turin's Vanchiglia district.
These experiments went so well that shortly afterwards came Nougatine, crunchy chopped and caramelized hazelnuts covered in extra dark chocolate (we suggest you reread this story while tasting one) and Venchi Spa, "the most elegant chocolate factory in Piedmont...", also designated "supplier to the Royal Household".

Today, the packaging no longer bears the royal coat of arms, but the passion, meticulousness and courage to experiment have endured ever since. That's how all those fancifully-named chocolates were born: Chocoviar, Gianduiotto, Cremino, tablets, spreads, Gourmet eggs and Gelato too!
