Description complète

Tommy Hilfiger - Sportswear and accessories, is one of the world's leading brands whose collections combine comfort and classic design, all with a touch of luxury. The boutique is located close to Opera Garnier, Galeries Lafayette and Le Printemps department stores.

Origin of the brand

Tommy Hilfiger is an American designer of Irish origin who opened his first clothing and record store called People's Place in Now York at the age of 20.

In 1985, with the help of businessman Mohan Murjani, an Indian textile magnate, he created his own brand, which he signed with his own name. Hilfiger's aim was to make classic, elitist fashion more colorful and stylish.

In 1995, Tommy Hilfiger was voted designer of the year, and took the opportunity to broaden his horizons by offering collections for the whole family.

The cuts of the brand's clothing refer to sports such as tennis, golf, squash and canoeing. Tommy Hilfiger polo shirts and sweatshirts quickly became cult products. Today, you'll find shoes, jackets, handbags and a wide range of clothing and accessories bearing the Tommy Hilfiger logo in stationary stores and online stores.

How do you recognize an original Tommy Hilfiger product?

First, the price. There's no such thing as a low Tommy Hilfiger price, with dizzying discounts. Then there's the logo. The original is a rectangle with carefully stitched edges. Counterfeit logos have a different shape, protruding threads and (often) typos in the brand name. Then, the final tip to ensure that the product you want to buy is indeed original is to check its serial number. It's on the inside label and should be the same as the number on the box.

Does the Tommy Jeans brand belong to Tommy Hilfiger - Sportswear and accessories?

Tommy Jeans is one of the Tommy Hilfiger brands. It's aimed at young millennials and Generation Z. The brand was called Hilfiger Denim until 2018. The iconic flag is featured in its logo, and its collections are based on the same color palette. The only difference between the two brands is their offering. At Tommy Jeans, you'll find more casual clothing, including the brand's famous logo sweatshirts, denim pants, jackets and skirts, as well as accessories: caps, belts, wallets and backpacks.

Who wears Tommy Hilfiger?

Behind the brand's incredible success are not only exceptional collections, but also star-studded advertising campaigns. Snoop Dogg, Zendaya, Leonardo DiCaprio and Beyoncé are among those who have promoted the brand. In 2015 Tommy began cooperating with supermodel and influencer Gigi Hadid, who immediately became the brand's ambassador, and a year later created her own collection with Tommy Hilfiger. The clothes born of this cooperation have been well received by the fashion world and worn by stars and influencers alike.

Tommy Hilfiger - Sportswear and accessories at 43 boulevard des capucines in Paris

This boutique was opened in 2015. It complements the address at 65 avenue des Champs Elysées, 75008, Paris. This is the brand's second flagship store in Paris, after the one on the Champs-Elysées. It succeeds the brand's previous store on rue Saint-Honoré, which has since closed.

The brightly lit store features a mix of presentations and product displays on mannequins. It has two levels covering several hundred square meters: a first floor and a mezzanine.

It showcases virtually its entire product range: men's and women's collections, accessories, the more formal tailored line, etc.

The Tommy Hilfiger Company: Tommy Hilfiger : B.V.

The Tommy Hilfiger Corporation went public in 1992. After licensing Pepe Jeans USA in 1995, Tommy Hilfiger Inc. began distributing women's apparel in 1996.

Throughout the 1990s, the company's marketing division worked in tandem with the popular music industry, and by 1993, Hilfiger was an official sponsor of Pete Townshend's Psychoderelict tour. In the early 1990s, the fashion was for looser, less fitted menswear, and Hilfiger gave his clothes a more relaxed cut.

After a decline in sales and net income in 2001, in 2003 Hilfiger executive Fred Gehring and Hilfiger decided to invest more in the brand's growing overseas audience by refocusing on the brand's original "classic American cool" style and designing clothes in New York.

In 2006, Tommy Hilfiger sold Tommy Hilfiger Inc. for $1.6 billion, or $16.80 per share, to Apax Partners, a private equity firm. In March 2010, Phillips-Van Heusen (PVH Corp.) bought Tommy Hilfiger Corporation for $3 billion. However, Tommy Hilfiger remains the company's principal designer, leading the design teams and overseeing the entire creative process.
