Armand Thiery Homme – Cloths is born in 1841. The Thiéry brothers opened their first linen store in Saint-Ghislain (Belgium), under the name Thiery frères. One of the brothers' sons, Eugène, went on to develop the family business, opening numerous outlets in France. Their shop 15 rue Auber is near Le Printemps, les Galeries Lafayette, l'Opéra Garnier, in the Madeleine Church district.

The sale of the company Armand Thiery

The crisis in the textile sector in the 1970s prompted Armand and his son Nicolas to sell their company to the PPR group in 1991. But to reduce its debt, the PPR group sold the company to Bidermann. In 1995, Mr Deveaux and Mr Jama signed a memorandum of understanding for the acquisition of the French assets of the menswear group, representing sales of FRF 1.7 billion and 3,200 jobs. Today Armand Thiery is owned by the Lucien Deveaux family.

Today, the company is divided into four store chains: "AT homme", "AT femme", the "Toscane" brand and the "Edji" brand with a total of 598 stores in France, Monaco and Belgium.

In 2007, Armand Thiery created "Toscane", a store dedicated to women who wear sizes 44 to 52, selling collections for curvy women. In 2011, a new brand called "Edji" (a digression of the English word EDGY - to be on the cutting edge) is created, aimed primarily at young women. The brand has nine points of sale.
