Sully-Hôtel, a beautiful historic mansion, now the "Centre des monuments nationaux

Between courtyard and garden, the Hôtel de Béthune-Sully is one of the most beautiful private mansions in Paris. Located in the heart of the Marais, this 17th-century monument was the residence of Maximilien de Béthune, Duke of Sully, Superintendent of Finances under Henry IV. Since 1967, it has housed the headquarters of the Centre des Monuments Nationaux. The main courtyard houses its information center. The bookshop, open to all, is located in the large ground-floor hall and features a painted beam ceiling. The garden, originally designed as an embroidered parterre, leads to Place des Vosges. It is not open to the public, but visitors can cross the courtyard and garden during opening hours to reach Place des Vosges.
