The Cheese Hill, the home of quality cheeses
La Butte Fromagère is the perfect spot to enjoy and savor fine cheeses, whether on your way up to or down from the Butte Montmartre.
Owner: Sophie Cormerais
After working in various food-related fields, including prestigious catering services, Sophie Cormerais returned to her first passion: cheese. When she opened La Butte Fromagère in 2013, her main goal was to delight customers and introduce them to original, high-quality products. Sophie and her team will guide you through the dozens of cheeses from small producers she works with directly or selects each week at the markets.
In a charming shop with a prairie-inspired color scheme, nestled on the western slope of Montmartre’s hill
It’s hard to resist the dedicated goat cheese display—the star of this creamery and cheese shop! But this boutique also offers a wealth of other delicious cheeses.
All products are sourced from small producers and carefully aged in the shop’s aging cellar. There’s something for every taste, and they’re all excellent.
La Butte Fromagère: for local customers and passing tourists

Everyone benefits from the selection of authentic cheeses and expert advice from Sophie Cormerais and her team.
La Butte Fromagère: a charming neighborhood cheese shop
Only high-quality products, with a wide variety of cheeses. This artisanal cheese shop offers nearly 180 varieties. An excellent address in the Montmartre district. Warm welcome and expert advice!
Don’t miss: the Barisien, a Brillat-Savarin infused with truffles. And be sure to try their brousse, traditionally sweet but also delicious in a savory version mixed with shredded beef in rillettes—a fantastic idea! You’ll find a selection of small producers (Brie de Melun, Comté Marcel Petit, Roquefort Carles…) as well as exceptional cheeses (Rosbe au romarin, Brillat-Savarin aux truffes…), with nearly 50 varieties of goat cheese.
And don’t forget the MONT VULLY: a cheese rubbed with Pinot Noir, featuring a fragrant rind and a flavorful, slightly crunchy paste.
Not to mention our international cheeses: all the great Spanish, Italian, English, and Irish classics…
For dairy products, you’ll find everything from fresh cream and eggs to butter, yogurt, and spoonable fresh cheese! And to elevate it all, refined jams and fruit jellies.
To complement this abundance of cheeses to enjoy, a deli section (hams, sausages), wines, and beers.
