Emile Léon – Jeweler on Rue Royale in Paris – Rated 4.5
Emile Léon-Joaillier is the last heir to the Léon family’s jewelry legacy. It all began in 1907 with David Léon, the first jeweler in the lineage. In 1945, Emile, the first David’s son, carried on the family tradition by taking over the workshop.
A family of jewelers since 1907
Denis, the successor of the Léon dynasty, was the first to establish himself in Paris, the cradle of jewelry craftsmanship. He became France’s youngest certified jewelry apprentice in 1967, earning his *Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle de Joaillerie*. He opened his first workshop in 1976, his first boutique in 1979, a second in 1981, and a third in 1986. His expertise and reputation allowed him to open a fourth boutique on Rue Saint-Honoré, one of Paris’s most prestigious addresses.
In 1998, Emile, Denis’s son, followed in his grandfather’s footsteps and began his own jewelry apprenticeship.
