Chanel Royale – Fashion Clothing and Accessories
Chanel is a French luxury house that creates elegant, understated collections, instantly recognizable by their signature Chanel style.
The Fashion of Coco Chanel
Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion fades, style is eternal,” and this principle still guides the brand. Black and white are Chanel’s iconic colors. The Chanel woman blends femininity and masculinity, wearing a pearl necklace, a tweed suit, refined and free.
A Reopened Boutique in December 2023
The boutique at 25, rue Royale, in the heart of the Madeleine district, has been fully renovated and reimagined as part of a year-long project.
The 420-square-meter space, spread over two levels, is centered around a glass elevator and a double-height white marble staircase. It features two distinct entrances: one on rue Royale and another in cité Berryer, one of Paris’s chicest hidden passages, renamed Village Royal in the 1990s and home to several luxury brands.
Decorated by Architect Peter Marino
The new layout reflects the concept developed by architect Peter Marino for Chanel, incorporating the house’s signature color palette (gold, black, unbleached white) accented with shades of blue, red, and pink. The atmosphere is hushed, intimate, and elegant, with luxurious materials such as stucco, lacquered panels, marble, granite, and onyx.
Fashion Accessories and Ready-to-Wear
At the entrance, on the first floor, a dedicated space showcases accessories like costume jewelry, sunglasses, and handbags, while at the back of the store, you’ll find small leather goods, watches, fine jewelry, and additional bag styles.
The store also offers ready-to-wear, featuring the latest collections from creative director Virginie Viard, including:
Clothing
Fashion accessories
Fragrances
Fine jewelry and watches
Sunglasses
A Sculpture to Evoke Mademoiselle Chanel
A standout feature of the store is the spiral sculpture *White Golden Lasso*, made of stainless steel pearls plated in white gold, suspended from the ceiling near the staircase. Inspired by Mademoiselle Chanel’s beloved pearl necklace, this monumental installation—over three meters tall—was created by artist Jean-Michel Othoniel and can also be found in other Chanel boutiques.
Chanel Boutiques in Paris and Around the World
With the redesign of the rue Royale flagship, Chanel is strengthening its presence in Paris. In the heart of the capital, the brand now operates five additional locations: 19 rue Cambon, a new space opened in 2018 to complement the historic address at 31 rue Cambon; 42 and 51 avenue Montaigne; and 21 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
These stores are complemented by Chanel’s flagship jewelry boutique on Place Vendôme, which reopened in June after major renovations, as well as Chanel spaces within Galeries Lafayette, Printemps, and Bon Marché department stores, La Samaritaine (with a dedicated shoe space), and three boutiques at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport. In total, the company operates 220 Chanel fashion boutiques worldwide.
