2. Lodging reservations

There’s a lot of accommodation in Paris. But also a lot of tourists. For much of the year, accommodation in Paris is a problem, and prices rise with the shortage of rooms. So it’s wisest to make a reservation as soon as you know your arrival and departure dates from Paris.

Below you’ll find 6 links to accommodation booking sites, so you can find the right solution for your needs. Very often, the accommodation you want is no longer available (reservation sites are limited by a pre-empted number of rooms). With several sites, you multiply your chances of finding the accommodation you want, while comparing prices.

In France, hotel rooms are classified by a number of stars: 2 to 5 stars + Palace. Five stars is the top-of-the-range category. In addition, all rooms are rated from 0 to 10 (in their own star category). Ratings below 8 are generally eliminated. Ratings above 9 are, of course, the most recommended. Note, however, that a rating of 9 in a 2* hotel may correspond to a more comfortable room than a rating of 8 in a 3* hotel.

Hotel room rates in Paris depend on the number of stars, the hotel’s quality rating and, above all, its location in Paris: the general rule is that the further you are from the center (arrondissements 1 to 10), the more affordable the prices, with a few exceptions like the 18th arrondissement (Montmartre).

4. Self-guided walk in Paris

We believe that visiting Paris can only be done by walking the streets – after visiting the “must-sees” (Monuments, museum, churches and cathedrals). That’s why we’ve put together a series of self-guided walks that start at the exit door of the best-known monuments, museums, churches and cathedrals, and lead to the entrance of another monument, museum or other building to visit. See below the list of the available walks :

But that’s not all: the routes of these walks are not chosen at random. Along the way, you’ll come across many things to see that aren’t in the guidebooks or brochures. On average, you’ll come across a “Point of Interest” only every 150 to 200 m (Paris is exceedingly rich in things to see, historical, anecdotal, etc.). You don’t waste your time just getting around (… and unnecessarily, for example, by metro ), you learn a lot by walking. Because every point of interest is commented on and documented, just like a human guide.

The tourist area, where most of the sights are to be found, is not very large. As a result, our walks are accessible to everyone. They’re only 2 to 3 km long and last around 2 to 2.5 hours: we don’t run 100 m! And this distance is enough to reach the entrance of the next museum to visit – or not.

What’s more, we’re in the process of “sprinkling” our routes with addresses of trusted merchants (rated for the quality of their products, service and prices) so that you can stop for a bite to eat. These include restaurants/bistros, patisseries/bakeries, cafés, but also galleries and other things to see or consume.

So far, we’ve organized 10 self-guided walks, which can be “reversed” (walking in either direction) at the click of a button, making a total of 20 starting points. This allows us to “mesh” the entire tourist territory of Paris.

Voir en plein écran

But it costs time to choose and test each of the walks, and also to develop other walks in Paris. The price of a walk, on your cell-phone, is 20€, with no limit on the number of participants. That’s very cheap, compared with a human guide who charges €20 to €25 – but per participant!

Last but not least, you can choose a time for your walk that suits you, with no meeting point required. You can also interrupt your walk at any time, and pick it up where you left off the next day.

5. A ready made stay organisation

We’ve given you a lot of information about Paris above, so that you can build up the organization of your stay. But there’s still a lot to be done to plan day by day, to synchronize visits without it being a marathon through the streets of Paris at the risk of forgetting what can be seen without rushing.

That’s why we’ve put together a series of standard stays that meet the usual demands of visitors to Paris, within a given timeframe (1 to 10 days), and which also include a daily schedule. This means you get everything you can choose for yourself earlier in this article, but plus geographically classified to be seen or visited without wasting unnecessary time.

The daily schedule is organized around one or two walks, allowing you to learn about Paris around the corner and not just what you see in museums or monuments.

Organizing your stay also includes pre-selecting reservations: for a given visit, you know at a glance what choices to make, so you don’t have to search for them among the possible options. This is even more useful when looking for your flight if you’re coming by plane, or when looking for a hotel room, which can be problematic at certain times of the year. What’s more, you have the option of consulting us once to amend or modify your proposed stay.

Finally, the cost of this service is only €90 for a 2-day stay, and €30 for each additional day. And you know what: the price of the walks is included in this package, saving between €20 and €40 per day (1 or 2 walks). Contact us by e-mail.
